Pierre Flasse

Sound Design & Composer

Pierre Flasse is a composer, sound designer and performer and educator based in London. He creates music and sound for theatre, and regularly releases new music ranging from cinematic jazz, to garage and folk. He is an avid collaborator and theatre maker, the composer's assistant to Sally Potter OBE and as a multi-instrumentalist he performs around the UK in genres spanning jazz to traditional Indian music.

Sound is an emotional experience for him. His drive to create comes from a deep-rooted emotional connection with audio, and his music provides a platform to exchange that connection with other people. His recent credits include: Permission (TARA Theatre), Frat (Prague, Brighton, Camden and Edinburgh Fringe), Local (Northern Tour - The Lowry, Theatre By The Lake…), BIG STRONG MAN (Northern Tour), Pillock (Edinburgh Fringe, Shakespeare North) and Joy Unspeakable (Northern Tour - The Octagon, The Met…). He is also one of the inaugural Elemental artists with the Watermill Theatre, and worked as an assistant sound designer there on Piaf and Pinnochio.

He is being mentored by sound designer Pete Malkin (Cursed Child, Othello, Let The Right One In) and Ella Wahlström (Christmas Carol, Peter Pan Goes Wrong), with support from the Association of Sound Designers, and has shadowed Pete on productions of Death Of England: Closing Time (Young Vic), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Royal Shakespeare Company, Barbican) and Robin / Red / Breast (Factory International). Previous shadowing credits include Mark Melville - Romeo & Juliet (Royal Exchange Theatre).
