CHRISTOPHER ADAMS-COHEN (they/them) is a Los Angeles-born, Jewish-American playwright, dramaturg, and deviser, living and working between London and Berlin. As a dramaturg, Adams-Cohen specializes in developing texts with emerging queer and diasporic writers. Plays they’ve supported dramaturgically include Patty Kim Hamilton’s RE:JANE DOE (Winner, Royal Shakespeare Company’s ‘37 Plays’ Folio), Estee Stimler's SMOTHER (JW3), and Brady Schwind’s immersive reimagining of CARRIE: THE MUSICAL (Winner, 2017 LA Drama Critics Circle Award). As a playwright, their work includes: ALL THE BEASTS OF THE EARTH (Berlin Kulturprojekte’s ‘80 Jahre Kriegsende’ Festival), THE MAD GAY KING (King’s Head Theatre, London), HECATE HOUSE (Theatre Im Delphi, Berlin), THE DEW COLLECTORS (Soho Revue Gallery, London), and SALOME (Mack Sennett Studios, LA). They are an alumnus of the 24/25 Soho Theatre Writers Lab, and gained an MA in Dramaturgy & Writing for Performance (with Distinction) from Goldsmiths, UoL. THE MAD GAY KING was published by Playdead Press and is available in the UK and internationally.
